We love it when local businesses team up with their employees to support St. Vincent de Paul Marquette District! We are proud to be one of 45 food distribution organizations nationwide that received food and donations from Cleveland-Cliffs Inc's annual "Souper Bowl" charitable event.
Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. announced on Feb 26, 2025 that it held its fifth annual Souper Bowl Food Drive across 50 of its operations and offices to address food insecurity in the local communities where the Company operates. Cleveland-Cliffs’ employees collected an astounding 415,000 pounds of non-perishable food items during the one-week food drive held in February 2025.
In conjunction with the food donations, ClevelandCliffs, The Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation and Stelco Holdings have also made cash contributions totaling $270,000 to support the selected 45 food distribution organizations.
Cleveland-Cliffs’ Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Lourenco Goncalves, said, “Food insecurity and affordability remain pressing issues in many communities. As a major employer in many towns, Cleveland-Cliffs is committed to making a meaningful impact. Over the past five years, we have contributed more than $3 million to organizations dedicated to fighting hunger. This year, our employees once again rose to the challenge – not just in their work, but in their communities – by collecting an impressive 415,000 pounds of non-perishable food items. We are proud to support 45 food distribution organizations that provide vital resources to individuals and families in need.”
Thank you to Cliffs employees for your generous donations, and thank you to Cliffs for matching employee contributions.
